Carol A. Stent peacefully passed away in her sleep on September 22, 2025 at her residence in Overton, Nevada next to her beloved husband, David. She was born on July 14, 1939 in Cambridge, Massachusetts to John and Jenny (Slajinsky) Prespolis. Carol graduated in the Class of 1957 from Saint Mary’s of the Annunciation (SMA). She made lifelong friends among her classmates and the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur who taught her so well. She was the eldest of three brothers and three sisters, a total of seven siblings.

The call of high adventure led Carol and four of her classmates to San Francisco, California all finding careers there, and later husbands. Carol was a striking beauty, with a zest for life. She later moved to Los Angeles, California where she caught the eye of Raymond Michael Stent, a young medical intern from England while interning at Los Angeles County U.S.C. Hospital. Following Raymond’s successful Residency at U.C.L.A. then receiving his Board Certification in Neurology, Raymond and Carol were married at the Wayfarers Chapel.

After Carol and Raymond divorced in the 1980s, she teamed up with the Love of her Life, David Y. Nakahara Esq., who practiced Law in Torrance. They were married in Las Vegas, Nevada on May 20, 1989. In 1998, Carol and David moved to Las Vegas, Nevada where they raised until the end seventeen fur babies. Carol A. Stent had a passionate love of all things Bright and Beautiful, All Creatures Great and Small.

Carol was instrumental in helping David care for his aged parents in their final years providing advice, counsel and support; all this happened while she recovered from a stroke that left her partially paralyzed. She illuminated this world with her wit, grit, and pure love. Carol is survived by her husband, David of Overton, Nevada; her sisters, Paula Couture of Dracut, MA and Naples, FL, Janet Buchino of Randolph, MA and Naples, FL, and Helen Botehlo of Conway, SC.
