Carol Ann Sziklai ObituaryCarol Ann Sziklai, 78, of Painesville, passed away peacefully on October 27, 2025. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, on July 28, 1947, she was the cherished daughter of the late Joseph and Rose Paulowsky (née Szabo).
Carol dedicated many years of her life to the United States Postal Service, where she worked as a mail carrier. She took great pride in her work and was known for her friendly spirit and dependability-always greeting those along her route with a smile.
A woman with a true zest for life, Carol loved to travel and explore new places. Whether she was taking in the beauty of Hawaii, the majesty of the Grand Canyon, or the sunshine of Florida, she embraced each journey with joy and curiosity. She especially loved her trips to Las Vegas, where she enjoyed playing the slots and catching a good show or two. Her adventures were often shared with her family, her best friend Josie, and other close companions, creating countless treasured memories along the way. Carol was an avid gardener, taking great pride in the landscape of her property.
At home, Carol found happiness in simple pleasures-cooking a delicious meal, laughing with loved ones, and spending time surrounded by family and friends. Her warmth, humor, and kindness made her a joy to be around, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her beloved son, Pete (Siew) Sziklai; her loving daughter, Chris Wellinger; treasured granddaughter, Cassandra Sziklai; and her brother, Joseph Paulowsky.
