Carol Taylor Obituary
Our precious Mother, Carol Hart Taylor of Tatum, Texas, was born in Dallas, Texas, on April 3, 1945, and left this world on June 25, 2024, surrounded by loved ones in Fort Worth, Texas. She attended East Mountain High School, where she met her soul mate and true love, her husband, Jerry Neal Taylor. Her greatest joys in life revolved around her children and being GaGa to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a provider for her family, pursuing many endeavors, including her famous restaurant and feed store in West Mountain, Texas, the Bluebonnet Café, and Taylor’s Feed and Seed. She loved history and genealogy and spent countless hours researching family history. She also deeply enjoyed arts and cooking. Her willingness to share her deep love, wisdom, and counsel will never be forgotten.
She was preceded in death by her father, Carroll Andrew Hart, in February 1945 during WWII; Mother, “Nanny” Dorothy Ruth Warren Hendrix, and “Papa” Rayburn L. Hendrix; Husband Jerry Neal Taylor and granddaughters Jaicey Lyn Robberson, C.J. Taylor and Chelsea Kirkland.
Her four children survive her: Daphne Allen of Tatum, Tony Taylor and Sonia of Longview, Hugh Taylor and Sue of Olympia, Washington, and Melissa Bennefield and Darrell of Tyler.
Grandchildren Ashley Applegate, Tanner Allen, Kailyn and Chris McDaniel; Tad Taylor and Kerri Boney, Trey Taylor, Brittany Taylor, Hunter Taylor; Brennan and Emily Taylor, Ian Taylor; Taylor and Amber Bennefield, Christopher and Courtney Bennefield, and Macy Bennefield.
Great-grandchildren Ashton Molloy, Gentry and Gage Bean, Jace McDaniel; Chelsea, Adalyn, and William Taylor, Karrah, Kayla, and Kyler; Madison and Mason Smelley, Addley Taylor; Isaac Taylor; Zoey Swinford, Harper Grace Bennefield; Joshua Guidry, Kennedy, Christopher Jr, and Penelope Bennefield; Oaklee and Camber Wilkes.
She is also survived by three bonus children, Phillip Martin, Kevin Cooper, and Jackie Suess.
The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, July 3, from 4 pm to 7 pm at Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer, Texas.
