Carol Ward Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by High Point Funeral Home & Crematorium on Jan. 22, 2025.
Carol Lyne Ward, aged 66, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2025, at Baptist Memorial Hospital. Born in Decatur, Illinois, Carol brought warmth and love to everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Carol graduated from East High School and went on to build a fulfilling career as a manager of several storage facilities, where her dedication and personable nature left a lasting impression on colleagues and customers alike. In 1980, she married Donald Bruce Ward, with whom she shared a loving marriage until his passing in 2005. Beyond her career, she was known for her passion for crossword puzzles, a pastime that showcased her sharp mind and love of words. Carol also found joy in cooking, delighting family and friends with meals that were as comforting as her presence.
Carol's greatest pride and joy were her children, her son Austin Ward, married to Catie Ward, and her daughter Heather Crisp, married to Brian Crisp. She deeply loved her grandchildren, Connor Ward and Emma Ward, and cherished every moment spent with them. Carol is also survived by her two sisters, Jeanne Sullivan and Florence Brooks, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Bennett and Roberta Doyle, her stepfather James Doyle Sr., her brothers Donald Sherman Bennett, William David Bennett, and James Doyle Jr., and her sister Nancy Doyle Banfield.
A graveside service will be held in her honor at Memphis Memory Gardens. The service is scheduled at High Point Funeral Home, where family and friends are invited to gather and celebrate Carol's remarkable life.
Carol Lyne Ward will be dearly missed, but her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
