Carol A. Wazny

Carol A Wazny, 89, of Linwood, our loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend, entered into her heavenly home on December 21, 2025.
Born May 24, 1936 in West Branch, the daughter of Clyde and Sara Elvera (Winter) Reetz, Carol graduated from West Branch High School and attended Northeastern School of Commerce in Bay City. While going to school she worked at Mill End. She later met and married Peter Francis Wazny of Midland. They were married on June 20, 1959 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Klacking Creek. She was predeceased by her parents, husband Peter Nov. 5, 1973, great grandchild Alma Wazny, sister in-laws Valeria Massicotte, Patricia Wise, and Dorthy Grice, nephew Brian Wazny, and niece Michelle Lee.
While raising her family and managing the home and farm, Carol also worked at Ben Franklin in Auburn from where she retired after many dedicated years. Carol was involved in 4-H for a lifetime, starting as a youth and continuing as a leader and was recognized as Leader of the Year 2005-2006. She was a member of Prince of Peace Parish and a member of the Knitting Shawl Ministry. She had a great love for the Blessed Virgin Mary and the rosary.
Carol devoted her life to her home and family where she could often be found "in the garden". She had a love for watching things grow, waiting patiently for that first ripe tomato and sharing with family & friends. Her gentle, kind loving spirit and wisdom will remain in our hearts as our inspiration and strength.
Carol is survived by her four children, John (Robin) Wazny of Linwood, Susan (Greg) Rosenbrock of Midland, Daniel (Sherry) Wazny of Linwood, Christopher Wazny of Linwood and beloved dog Maggie. Eight grandchildren, Bret (Michelle) Wazny, Katie (Aaron) Stachnik, Taylor Rosenbrock, Ryan (Samantha) Rosenbrock, Grant Rosenbrock, Luke Wazny, Noah Wazny, and Caleb (Alyson) Wazny. Thirteen great grandchildren Carolynn, James, Aurora, Avery, Larkyn, Cole, Reid, Matthew, Hope, Olivia, Amiya, Frannie, and Chandler. Brother in-laws Jerome (Jeane) Wazny, Tom (Kim) Grice, sister in-law Kathy Wazny, cousin Linda and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at McLaren Bay Region 6 West for the compassionate care provided to Carol. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider sending donations to Prince of Peace Parish.
Funeral mass will be on Saturday December 27, 2025 at 11 am at Prince of Peace- St. Anne Campus with Fr. Prentice Tipton presiding with burial at St. Valentine Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday at Rivertown Funeral Chapel from 2pm - 8pm with a Vigil service at 7pm. On Saturday from 10am till time of mass at the church.
