Carol Weathers Obituary
Carol Lee Weathers
1932 to 2025
Carol Lee Anderson Weathers, beloved matriarch of her family, died surrounded by the love of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren in her home state of Utah on September 27, 2025. She was born in Murray, Utah to Christian Henry Anderson and Emma Constance Jensen on Dec. 19, 1932. Her birthday in December was the reason her parents named her Carol - "A Carol to the King." She lived her life to honor the King of heaven and earth.
Carol Lee graduated from Ogden High School in 1951. She continued her education at Weber College, graduating with a 2-year degree. She then attended Utah State Agricultural College, receiving a teaching degree in home economics in 1955.
She met her husband while on a double date. They both quickly realized that they liked each other better than their own dates. After that, they were inseparable until he was drafted. She waited faithfully while he served in the Army. Shortly after his return, they were married in the Logan temple on July 5, 1956.
Carol Lee taught school until just before their first child was born. Then, after Kent graduated from the University of Utah in 1957, they moved to California for his first job. Moving several times early on, they enjoyed raising their family in the desert and orange groves of Southern California.
A devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Carol Lee served in many capacities. She was a long-time member of the Anaheim California 6th Ward and loved the many friends she associated with there. She enjoyed serving in Primary, Young Women's and Relief Society. Most of all she loved serving with her dear husband, Walter Kent Weathers. They were a great team. After his death, she chose to continue giving as a service missionary in the Family Services Fountain Valley office for 6 years. She was then a temple ordinance worker in the Newport Beach Temple for 7 ½ years.
She is survived by her 4 children and their spouses: Joan Katz (Jeff), Dana Olsen (Roy), Mark Weathers (Jolyn), and Dale Weathers (Roxayn). Her family has grown to include 13 grandchildren, and 32 great-grandchildren. She loved each one dearly and found great joy in the promise of a forever family! Daily, she found great hope in her faith in God's promise of being reunited with her eternal sweetheart.
She had a thankful heart and told everyone that her children and grandchildren were perfect, evidence of her joyful optimism and genuine love. She was especially grateful for her long life, wonderful friends, her faith in Jesus Christ, and eternal families. Her parents and sister, LaRae Barrett, and her husband, Kent Weathers, welcomed her home to heaven. She will be greatly missed by all who were blessed by her loving influence.
Funeral services will be held in California on Monday October 6th at 10:30 AM in the Royal Oak Chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (5275 E Nohl Ranch Road, Anaheim). There will be a short visitation with family members after the service.
A Utah celebration of Carol Lee's life will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 PM on Saturday October 18th at the LDS chapel at 11300 Highland Blvd, Highland 84003. It will be an Open House format for visiting with family members - no program - and light refreshments will be served.
Interment will be at the Santa Ana Cemetery next to her beloved Kent.
