Carol Sue (Miller) Wooten, 80 of Reidsville, North Carolina went to be with the Lord on April 22, 2025 after a lengthy illness. Carol was born August 31, 1944 in Fostoria, Ohio to the late Horace and Verna (Criss) Miller and resided in Ohio until 2020 when she relocated to North Carolina. Carol was married to Elmer (Al) Wooten for 56 wonderful years until his passing on January 28th, 2020.

A joint memorial service for Carol and Elmer will be held at 2:00 P.M on Sunday, June 1st, 2025 at Eden First Assembly of God with Rev. Nathan Chapmon officiating. Military Honors will follow the service for Mr. Wooten by the Rockingham County Honor Guard.

More than anything else, Carol loved her family and was known by everyone for her sweet, kind spirit and beautiful smile. She was a selfless person, who always put others first. She enjoyed spending time with her family, including her new church family that was so very kind and loving to her until the end. She enjoyed crafting, ceramics and decorating over the years. She loved watching sports, and especially loved her OSU Buckeyes and also recently the UNC Tarheels. Her memory will live on in the lives she touched, and the love she shared will be forever cherished.

Carol is survived by her daughters, Brenda Singer (Jay) of Centerville, OH and Debby Chapmon (Mark) of Reidsville, NC; son, Mike Wooten of Daytona Beach, FL;

granddaughter, Laura McGarvey (Alex) of New Lebanon, OH; grandsons, Derek Singer (Jenny) of New Lebanon, OH, Deon Singer of Centerville, OH and Spencer Chapmon of Garner, NC and 5 great grandchildren, Shayla McGarvey, Landon Singer, Tayvin McGarvey, Dillon Singer, and Drayden McGarvey. She is also survived by brothers, Horace ‘Bud’ (Connie) Miller of Gladwin, MI, Jim (Mary) Miller of Mt. Blanchard, OH and sister Rose (Russ, deceased) Humm of Findlay, OH and many, many, wonderful nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Carol was preceded in death by her sisters, Betty (Woody) Woodruff of Norwalk, OH, Evelyn (Don) Otto of Findlay and brother Gary Miller of Fostoria.

There will be a Celebration of Life Service held at a later date, honoring both our wonderful mother and father.

The family wishes to extend a very special thank you to Sierra at UNC Rockingham Nursing Care and many wonderful nurses and staff that loved and cared for our precious mother, as if she was their own. Much laughter and many, many tears were shared together, as we traveled this difficult journey.

Memorials may be made to Eden First Assembly of God, 1739 Harrington Hwy, Eden, NC 27288, where she found so much joy, peace and especially love from everyone who embraced her so kindly over the last 5 years.
