Carole J. Bergevin, 76, passed away May 11, 2025.
Carole was born and raised in Somerville before moving to Lawrenceville in 1970. She graduated from Trenton State with a Bachelor's degree in Education. Carole was employed as an elementary school teacher for the North Hanover Township Public School for 42 years, retiring in 2014. Carole was a member of the NJEA where she served as past president in North Hanover. In her spare time, she enjoyed crafting, reading, Star Trek, Doctor Who, and was a British mystery fan. Carole was an avid baseball fan for Trenton Thunder and Boston Red Sox. In 1998, she was recognized by the NJEA & Trenton Thunder for her work with the Take Kids Out (TKO) program. Caroles favorite time of year was Christmas and the holidays spent with family. Carole loved her dogs and ferrets but especially loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by all.
She is predeceased by her husband James J. Bergevin who passed away in 2020.
Surviving are her children, James Joseph Bergevin, Jr and his wife Shannon; Steven M. Bergevin and his wife Jackie, Jennifer Leigh Bergevin and her husband Jeremy Thackray, siblings Dorothy Patricia Andracki, William Francis Huddy III, and Jeffery Franklin Huddy, and grandchildren Nicholas S. Bergevin, Joseph Anderson and his wife Morgan, Erin E. Bergevin, Catherine E. Bergevin, and Abigail R. Bergevin, and great granddaughter Mia.
A celebration of life visitation will be 11am-1pm Friday with services at 1pm at Bruce C. VanArsdale Funeral Home, 111 N. Gaston Ave, Somerville. Interment will follow at New Cemetery in Somerville.
