Ms. Carole Frances Cox, 62, of Clearwater, SC, companion of twenty-five years to Rhonda Long, entered into rest on Sunday, November 23, 2025.
Born in Aiken, SC, a daughter of Melvin R. and Frances Crocker Cox, Carole spent her childhood in Anderson, SC, before returning to the Aiken area. She attended the University of South Carolina at Aiken, as an early entry gifted student at the age of 15.
Her career path took her in several directions. Most recently, she was a Security Officer with Sizemore Security.
Carole had a love for music. She was an incredibly talented songwriter. Known for her incredible skills on a six-string as well as the difficult-to-play, twelve-string guitar.
She enjoyed trips to the thrift store. Every inch of her home was decorated and furnished with treasures she found while "thrifting."
Along with her companion, Carole is survived by her sisters, Judi (Bill) Walters, Aiken, SC and Renee Bane, Charlotte, NC; nieces, Sarah Holliday, Laura Simmons, Ivy Simmons, all of Aiken, SC, Susan Cronin, Anderson, SC, Deborah Donald, Charlotte, NC and nephews, Ari Simmons, East Flatrock, NC, Devin Burton and Jasper Holliday, both of Aiken, SC.
Carole was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Martin R. Cox, all of Anderson, SC.
A graveside service will be held in the old Silver Brook Cemetery, Anderson, SC, at a day, date, and time to be announced.
