Carole Jackson Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Jun. 11 to Jun. 15, 2023.
Carole Ann Jackson (n?e Cushman), a longtime resident of Park Ridge, passed away on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at the age of 79, while vacationing in Johannesburg, South Africa. Carole was born on March 10, 1944, in Lexington, KY, to J. Kent and Dorothy Cushman.

Carole was passionate about many things in life, including her family, bridge, and traveling. She was an avid Duplicate Bridge player and achieved "Life Master" status. She was highly sought after as a partner, and enjoyed playing in the most competitive of games.

She traveled around the world, visiting dozens of countries, with her favorite destination being France. In November of 2014, Carole joined a group from Tri-County Unitarian Universalists Church and spent eight days in Haiti, volunteering time and resources to help rebuild homes after a devastating earthquake all but destroyed the island nation.

Carole is survived by her children, David Dahl and Diane Chaine, and step-children Thomas Jackson and James Jackson. She is also survived by granddaughter, Kendra Calhoun, her sister Susan Carney, and brother-in-law James Carney. Carole was preceded in death by her husband Paul Jackson, her father J. Kent Cushman, and her mother Dorothy Cushman.

A memorial service to celebrate Carole's life will be held on July 1, 2023, at 10:00 am at Park Ridge Community Church, 100 Courtland Avenue, Park Ridge, IL, 60068. Reception will follow.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Tri-County Unitarian Universalists Church at Box 829 Summerfield, Florida, 34492, or TRIUU.org/donate. This church was very important to Carole, and the family thanks you for your support.
