Caroline "Carol" Bellissimo (Mis), 87, of Caseville passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family on Wednesday, July 16, 2025. Carol was born on October 26, 1937, in Detroit to the late Anthony and Eleanor (Nowicki) Mis where she attended Cody High School. She spent her youth in Detroit, working for the Detroit J.L. Hudson Department Store before settling in as a homemaker for her six beautiful children whom she had with her former husband Vito. She loved and supported her children through many endeavors. Once her children were older, Carol went back to school, earning a Medical Assistant degree and working for a cardiologist in Dearborn before eventually retiring to the house her parents built in Caseville. There, she was a proud member of the Red Hat Society and the Caseville Fraternal Order of Eagles #3690, as well as a faithful parishioner of St. Roch Catholic Church. Carol is remembered for her wonderful cooking skills and her ability to provide for her family. She enjoyed visiting the casino in Mt. Pleasant and was fiercely proud of her Polish heritage. In addition to her time in Detroit, Dearborn, and Caseville, Carol vacationed in Florida. An easy-going but spirited woman, Carol was known for her forgiving nature and her great smile. She was easy to talk to, smart, and decisive. Above all, she was a loving, warm, and nurturing woman who cherished her family. Carol is survived by children, Sherryanna Bellissimo, Frank (Theresa) Bellissimo, Lisa Yglesias, and Vito Bellissimo; grandchildren, Marie, Vincent, Lauren, Lia, Breann, Jade, Andre, Dante, Natalie, Lorenzo, Gianna, Andrew, and Bella; great-grandchildren, Brooke, Phillip, and Isla; aunt, Rose Pattenaude; and son-in-law, Bob Guerin; as well as many other family members and countless friends. Carol was preceded in death by children, Gina Guerin and Tony Bellissimo; as well as a cousin, Nadine Snyder. A Funeral Mass for Carol will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish, St. Roch Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. George Amos presiding. Visitation will take place at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service, with a committal to follow at St. Roch Catholic Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
