I have fought the good fight, and I have finished the race. I have kept the faith.
Caroline Ugarte Benavides was born October 12,1951 to Agustin & Agustina Ugarte in St. Helena, California.
At the age of 16, Caroline met the love of her life, Leonel Benavides. She married him on June 10, 1973, and together they began a beautiful life journey. Caroline was blessed with three children: Leonel Jr., Ida, and Eduardo.
Caroline was a pillar of faith, strength, resolve and beauty. She loved the Lord with all her heart which poured out to all her family and every life she touched. Caroline was the best example of faithfulness to God, her husband, and her children.
In 52 years of marriage, she never wavered. She was the anchor that held. She was strength when her family needed it and always showed kindness. She lived a life dedicated to God to her husband and her family. She had many roles in life but none she loved more than being a wife and a faithful servant to God. Caroline had nine grandchildren. Emily Sue was her pride and joy as her first grandchild she enjoyed the 14 years, she spent raising her and enjoying those years they brought her immense joy. Before long, her cup runneth over as eight wonderful grandchildren were born into her life, bringing her even more joy - Sierra, Willow Benavides, Hayden, Eleanor, Catherine, Aria, Ezra, and Anastasia Casas. She lovingly spent her days cherishing them and teaching them God's word. Caroline was also blessed with one great-grandchild, Salvador Vasquez, whom she deeply enjoyed.
She loved tea parties, little house on the prairie, It's a wonderful life and many other old movies and traditions she loved to share with her grandchildren and children. She brought a beautiful peace to our lives, one that can never be replaced only filled by God's mercy and grace.
Caroline was a Sunday school teacher, she ran the Harlingen red cross chapter for many years, she was a librarian in the city of Farmersville while also being first lady of the city of Farmersville. She was a pastor's wife where she served God and the women of Bethel Spanish Assembly of God for eighteen faithful years. Before her passing she was a faithful member of Faith Assembly of God in Combes, Texas where she enjoyed worshiping the Lord and the company of the ladies of the church. She has left a void that is overwhelming but the example she set the lessons she taught, the beauty she brought to this life and to the lives of many resounds over that emptiness.
She was a wonderful mother a faithful wife and a servant of God. There are not enough words to summarize the grandness of her life. We are thankful to God for 74 years we got to share in this beautiful and blessed life as the Lord had always shown her favour, he walked with her as she walked with him and now, she is with home with him in glory.
All funeral services will be held in Parlier, California.
