Caroline M. Hall, 90, of Grayling, Michigan and North Fort Myers, Florida passed away peacefully, at home, on Tuesday, March 10th, 2026.
Born February 27, 1936, in Chicago, Illinois. She was the only child of Phyllis and Charles Long. The family moved to Grayling when she was 5 years old, graduating from Grayling High School in 1954. In 1956 she married William "Fritz" Golnick, they had 5 children together. She had several jobs, including being a business owner of the Grayling Diary Queen but her favorite was working for the State of Michigan in the Bingo and Lottery division, where she retired from. She enjoyed many things: reading, crocheting, playing bingo, theater and concerts but her favorite was traveling and cruising. She took many trips throughout the U.S., Canada, and China with either friends or family and cruises to Mexico and Europe with 2 of her daughters. Fulfilling a dream of seeing the Netherland windmills. Her greatest love though was her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and her children.
Divorced in 1977, she went on and married Roger Hall in 1986. They moved to North Fort Myers, Florida where they lived for +or- 25 years.
Caroline was preceded in death by both her husbands, son-in-law Michael J. Shively, granddaughter Heather M. King, and great grandson Troy R. King.
She is survived by her 5 children: Cheryl (Mark) Timmerman of Elgin, Illinois and Bokeelia, Florida, LuAnn (Scott Haddock) Shively, of Crystal River, Florida, Charles "Chuck" Golnick of Grayling, Patti (Ed Baynham) Golnick of Grayling, and Barbara "Barb" (Otto) Zimmerman of Chiefland, Florida.
Grandchildren: Jodi (Scott Krieger) Mabbott of Elgin, Illinois, Sarah (Timmy) Cribbins of Crystal River, Florida, Charles Golnick of Texas, Brooklynn Golnick of Traverse City, Michigan, William "Billy" (Kristie) Partello of Grayling, Dusty (Chelsea) Partello of Grayling, Joshua (Josh) (Jessica Ramsey) Partello of Grayling, and Chelsea (Cameron) Wakeley of Grayling. Step-grandchildren: Justen Timmerman, Michael Haddock, Scotty Haddock, Noelle Sleesman, Ed Baynham Jr, Nick Baynham, Adam Baynham and Sam Zimmerman. Multiple great and step great children, and 1 step great great grandson.
Special mention to her life long dear friend Rita McEvers.
A graveside burial service will be held at Elmwood Cemetery, date to be determined.
