Caroline Thompson Thompson

Funeral services for Caroline Thompson Thompson, 84, who entered into rest on February 27, 2026, will be conducted on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Clarendon Baptist Church, Reverend Ronald Allen Taffer officiating. Private interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery, Sumter, South Carolina. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service from Noon to 1:00 p.m.

Mrs. Thompson was born in Alcolu, SC on August 11, 1941, to the late William Robert and Dorothy Cuttino Thompson. For more than 40 years, Mrs. Thompson was a Licensed Practical Nurse with Sumter Pediatrics and Tuomey Hospital. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Sumter where she served as a Sunday School teacher, and a member of the adult choir. Mrs. Thompson loved gardening, Bible studies, her five grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, William Archie Thompson. Survivors include her daughters Allison Thompson Taffer (Ron), and Caroline Thompson Thomas (John); grandchildren Jessica Thomas Kamlet (Adam), Aaron Grant Taffer, John Adam Taylor, Jr. (Kimmy), Anna Caroline Taffer Bayne (Derek), and Daniel Henson Taffer (Madison).

Honorary Pallbearers for the service are Mrs. Thompson's grandsons and nephews Grant Taffer, Adam Taylor, Daniel Taffer, Donald Thompson, and Wayne Thompson.

The family would like to thank the staff of Legacy Reserve at Fairview, Crescent Hospice of Greenville, and The Gables skilled nursing for their love and compassionate care for Mrs. Thompson.
