Caroline Yaude Obituary

Caroline N. Yaude

August 5, 1926 - October 15, 2025

Bellingham, Washington - Caroline Elizabeth Neel Yaude, age 99, passed away peacefully on October 15, 2025, in Bellingham, Washington, with family by her side.

Born on August 5, 1926, in Rochester, New York, Caroline lived a long and vibrant life marked by creativity, compassion, and an unwavering spirit. She pursued her education with dedication, graduating from the University of Rochester and later earning her Master's Degree in Elementary Guidance Counseling from Plattsburgh University. Her commitment to education and personal growth laid the foundation for a life spent inspiring others.

Caroline shared her talents generously throughout her life. She was an accomplished artist, seamstress and knitter whose creations brought beauty and warmth to those around her. Whether through a carefully crafted painting or a lovingly stitched or knitted garment, she expressed herself with care and intention. Her artistic gifts were matched by her generosity, she gave freely of her time and talents to family, friends, and students alike.

Her professional journey took her from the St. Thomas, Virgin Islands to Bellingham, where she touched countless lives through her work in education and guidance counseling. Caroline's lessons extended far beyond the classroom; she instilled values of strength, kindness, determination, and creativity in all who knew her.

Caroline was deeply loved by her family. She is survived by her five children: Bill Yaude, Susie Edwards, Barbie Tarte (Terry), Patsy Yaude (Kirk), and Jane Yaude (Chris); grandchildren: Tyler (Caitlin), Dylan, Madeleine, (Gavin), Kyla, (Matt), Spencer, and Giselle; and great grandchildren: Kensley, Mayla, Theo, and Mira.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Walt Yaude; her parents, Robert and Anna Neel; and her siblings, John Neel, Bob Neel, Ginny Skuse, Diana Pefley, and Bill Neel.

Caroline lived with gumption, a word that perfectly captures the boldness with which she approached life. She was respected for her wisdom and admired for her resilience. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of those she inspired across generations. May Caroline's memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved her.

A service will be held on November 15, 2025, at 10 AM at Cordata Presbyterian Church (400 Meadowbrook Ct.). Reception to be held afterward.
