Carolyn J. Badamo
Carolyn passed away on August 16,2025 and was born on November 4,1936 in Watseka Illinois. Her Mother Gertrude Nickey Grubbs and Father Arthur Daniel Grubbs moved to
Bradenton, Florida in 1949. They lived on Anna Maria Island during her high school years. She graduated from Manatee County High School in 1955. She then married her first husband John Liptrot where they both lived in Blue Island Illinois during the 1960's and then moved back to
Bradenton, Florida in 1971.
Carolyn started working for General Telephone Company in Sarasota, Florida and Retired from General Telephone Phone Company in 1994. She met her husband Mark A. Badamo of 35 years while working at General Telephone Company. Mark passed away in July of 2014 in Gainsville, Florida. After his passing she move back to Bradenton where she lived at Freedom Village.
While living in Bradenton her husband Mark Badamo start AACA Vintage Wheels of Manatee County. Where she was an editor of their newspaper and received a National award from Antique Automobile Club of America. She moved to Northport, Florida in 199. Carolyn's interest led her to become very active as a volunteer with many organizations. Secretary with Elks Lodge 2632, being one of the first ladies in the state of Florida to be an Elk member. Treasurer of VFW Ladies Auxiliary 8203 in Northport, Florida, Treasure of American Legion Auxiliary unit 254 Northport, Florida. President of Amvets Auxiliary 312 for two years in Northport, Florida.
She moved to Gainsville, Florida in 2005 where she was the President of American Legion Auxiliary unit 16 for three years. Executive board of VFW Auxiliary 2811 for seven years. As of her passing she was a member of American Legion Auxiliary unit 24 in
Bradenton, Florida, Life member of VFW Auxiliary Palma Sola 10141 in
Bradenton, Florida, Member of Elks Lodge 11511 of
Bradenton, Florida and also a Life member of Amvets 312 in Northport, Florida.
Carolyn is survived by her daughter Susan Zimmermann (John) of Nokomis, sons Douglas Liptrot of Crystal Lake, Illinois, Robert Liptrot (Kim) of
Bradenton, Florida, brother James Grubbs (Char) of Sarasota, Florida, Six grandchildren and Two great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Mark, daughter Linda Adams and grandson Max Liptrot.
A Visitation will be held on Thursday August 21,2025 from 4-5PM with a Service to follow at 5PM at Brown & Sons Funeral Homes & Crematory 43rd Street Chapel, 604 43rd Street West,
Bradenton, FL 34209.
A Graveside service will be held on Friday August 22,2025 at 10AM at Mansion Memorial Park 1400 36th Ave E, Ellenton, FL 34222.
