Carolyn Jean Billingley

Carolyn Jean Billingsley, 79, of Tallahassee, FL, finished her work on earth and began her life in Heaven on Monday, October 27, 2025.
Jean (Mom) was born July 7,1946 in Bainbridge, GA, the daughter of Curtiss and Susie Calhoun Turnage. Moving to Tallahassee as a teenager, Jean graduated from Leon High School in 1964. She met the love of her life, Richard in 1967, shortly after his return from the Army; marrying each other 3 ½ months later on January 27th, 1968. She worked with Baker Harris Insurance, several state agencies, and ultimately landed her dream job with IBM in 1973. With her beautiful personality and unmatched work ethic, she rose rapidly through the ranks to become a marketing representative for the company handling major education accounts in the North Florida region. Her work took her all over the United States and she developed cherished friendships with Cathy Cameron, Carolyn Roberts, Kim Quakenbush and Megan Altavilla. Jean retired in 1992 from IBM and entered a new phase of her life balancing a new career in real estate, and providing/managing care for immediate family members in their time of need.
As Jean entered her last few years, she was cared for by her devoted husband/caregiver Richard. She most enjoyed spending time with her family including her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband Richard Billingsley, of Tallahassee, Fl, children, Jeffery and James Billingsley (Tina), grandchildren Tyler and Annabelle, step-grandchildren Gage Waters and Keenan Malfa, brother, Larry Turnage (Ann) of Dothan, AL; sister Florence T. Brown (Randy) of Whigham, GA; and many nieces and nephews. Jean was preceded in death by her parents; and her beloved brothers Ernie and Tommy Turnage.
Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00PM Thursday, October, 30, 2025 at the Billingsley Cemetery in Eastern Leon County. Greg Roberts, Pastor of Indian Springs Baptist Church will be officiating.
