Carolyn Bouwman

Carolyn Mae Bouwman, age 74, of Muskegon passed away Friday, September 26, 2025, at Trinity Hospital. She was born August 10, 1951, in Hickman, Kentucky to Roy and Beulah (Ritchie) Miller.

Carolyn's joy was spending time with her family and doting on her children and grandchildren. She loved country music, especially Loretta Lynn, cooking, dancing and being social. She will be certainly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by five children: Angela Troutman, Audrey Rodriguez, Andrea Pekala, Dennis (Consuela) Pekala and Robert Pekala; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, James Ritchie; nieces and nephews, and friends; dog, Little Bit; cat, Sassy Sue. Carolyn was preceded in death by the love of her life, Jerry Bouwman; her parents, Roy and Beulah; siblings: Gene Miller, Linda Zimonich, Mark Hudson, Troy Michael Miller, Bobbie Sue Johnson, and Sheryl Miller.

A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Friday, October 3, 2025, at The VanZantwick Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 620 Washington Ave, Grand Haven, MI 49417. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorial Contributions in memory of Carolyn may be given to the Alzheimer's Association and Pound Buddies.
