Carolyn L. Burchfield, age 85, of Louisville, OH passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 21, 2023. She was born June 27, 1937 in Richmond, Virginia to the late Hugh and Lucille Woodson. She married James Burchfield & they were lifelong residents of Louisville after returning from serving in the United States Air Force where they met. Carolyn received her bachelor's degree from Malone College. After 27 years of teaching kindergarten at Louisville Elementary School she enjoyed and made many friends during her retirement years in Citrus Park, Florida. While she will be dearly missed by all of her family and friends, she would want everyone to know that she was ready to meet her Lord and Savior. The favorite Bible verse she was encouraged by is 1Corinthians13:4-8 Love never fails
Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, James Burchfield; her son, David Burchfield and a brother, George Fredrick Woodson. She will be dearly missed and will always hold a special place in the hearts of those she is survived by in her family in her two daughters, Becky (Ron) Rodak, Sherrie (Don) Burkhart; six grandchildren, Ben (Maria) Rodak, Matt (Caitlin) Rodak, Christin (Doug) Walker, Matt (Alexis) Johnston, Joe Johnston, Cory Mash and eight great-grandchildren Camilla, Maxson, Stuart, Wyatt, Phineas, Otto, Everly, Luna; Sister-in-law Sue (Lee) Sommers and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Cross Roads Hospice for the kind and compassionate care that was given to Carolyn.
Christian Memorial service will be held by Carolyn's nephew Pastor Stan Berrong 4pm Sunday February 26 at Stier-Israel Funeral Home in Louisville. The family will receive friends from 3-4pm Sunday at the funeral home. Carolyn will be laid to rest, beside her husband, in Union Cemetery, Louisville, OH. Memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson's Foundation. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.stierisraelfuneralhome.com
