Carolyn "Carol" Lee Izer Foster

Carolyn “Carol” Lee Izer Foster, age 83, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away on Monday, May 5, 2025, at Fahrney-Keedy Senior Living Community. Born December 31, 1941, in Waynesboro, PA, she was the daughter of the late Harold “Max” Maxwell Izer and Mary Violet May Minnich Izer.

Carol was a 1959 graduate of the Greencastle-Antrim High School. She went on to work for the Federal Department of Transportation as an Office Administrator, retiring after 25 years of service. She enjoyed going to lunch with friends, taking bus trips, and collecting Longaberger Baskets.

Surviving is her brother, Harold E. Izer of Hagerstown, MD and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Foster in 1975.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 12, 2025, at 1:30 PM in the Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, Inc., 45 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle, PA, where Pastor Brent Stouffer will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. Interment will be private in Cedar Hill Cemetery. The family wishes to extend their appreciation to the staff and nurses at Seaton Senior Living, Fahrney-Keedy Senior Living Community, and Washington County Hospice for the excellent care they gave to Carol. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to Washington County Hospice, 1710 Underpass Way suite 300, Hagerstown, MD 21740.
