Carolyn Juanita Crane, a beacon of love and faith, passed away peacefully on December 4, 2025, in Hayden, Alabama, at the age of 84. She was born on March 26, 1941, in Alabama to the late Charlie and Jewel (Sloan) Crawford. Carolyn was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend who left an indelible mark on the lives she touched.
Carolyn's life was a testament to her unwavering Christian faith. As a devoted member of Gethsemane Baptist Church, she was instrumental in nurturing the spiritual growth of her community. Her commitment to her faith was evident in her dedication to teaching Sunday school, leading the Women's group, and coordinating Vacation Bible School. Her ability to connect with others through her teachings was a source of inspiration and comfort to many.
A woman of boundless generosity, Carolyn embodied the spirit of giving. She was known for her open heart and open door, never missing an opportunity to extend kindness and support to those around her. Her involvement in the church's sewing group was one of the many ways she expressed her love for her community, often crafting beautiful pieces for those in need.
Carolyn's role as a homemaker was one she held with pride and joy. Her home was a haven of warmth and affection, much like Carolyn herself. Her love for her family knew no bounds, and she was the glue that held them together through life's ups and downs. She is survived by her loving son Richard Crane (Mary Tomski) and daughter Paula Dehart (Michael), her brother David W. Crawford, her adoring grandchildren Rebecca Brandt (Dan), Richard Joseph Crane (Maria Maya), Lydia Dehart (Clay), and Daniel Dehart (Regan), and her cherished great-grandchildren Colton Brandt, Ian Brandt, Amoura Crane, and Leo Dehart. Predeceased by her beloved husband Paul Dean Crane, Carolyn's legacy of love continues through the family she nurtured so tenderly.
Those who knew Carolyn will remember her as a loving, kind, and faith-filled soul. Her presence was a comfort to those around her, and her ability to make friends with anyone she met was nothing short of remarkable. She was a woman who lived her life in service to others, always putting the needs of her family and community before her own.
Carolyn's love for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren was unparalleled. She reveled in their accomplishments and milestones, and there was nothing she enjoyed more than spending time with them. Her influence on their lives is a treasure that will be carried forward for generations to come.
As we bid farewell to Carolyn Juanita Crane, we do so with heavy hearts but also with profound gratitude for the time we were blessed to share with her. Her memory will continue to shine brightly in the lives of those she loved so dearly. Carolyn's journey on earth may have ended, but her spirit will forever be woven into the fabric of her family's story.
