Carolyn Ann DeFigueiredo

Carolyn Ann (Sequist) DeFigueiredo, 82 of Wallingford, Connecticut passed away on Thursday, August 29, 2024 at Connecticut Hospice in Branford, CT.
Carol was born in White Plains, NY on March 12, 1942. She was very close to her parents, Anthony and Lillian (Souza) Falcigno, who considered Carol to be the "apple of their eye." She graduated from Lyman Hall High School in 1960. She spent 36 years, (1970 - 2006) as a manager in operator services for Southern New England Telephone.
She absolutely loved decorating for Christmas, traveling and dining out. Carol also had a passion for gardening and tending to her flowers at her home in Wallingford. She was an animal lover and owned many cats and dogs and especially loved her pride and joy, Gracie who spent considerable time on her lap.
Carol is survived by her son, Nelson DeFigueiredo and his wife, Darlene of New Bern, NC; her daughter, Dawn DeFigueiredo of Wallingford, CT; and her grandson, Carter DeFigueiredo of Groton, CT. She is also survived by her cousin, Dorothyann Freifeld of CT; her former brother-in-law, Jerry Dunn and his children, Dawn Marie (Dunn) Grimes and Daniel Dunn of MD; and her former brother-in-law, Albino DeFigueiredo his daughter, Amy Defigueiredo and her son, Justin. She was predeceased by her parents, Lillian and Anthony; and her brothers, Walter Sequist and Gilbert Souza.
Her family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main St. Ext., on Friday, September 13th from 9:30 – 10:30am when the funeral cortege will proceed to Most Holy Trinity Church, 84 N. Colony Street, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am. Interment in St. John Cemetery will follow.
