Carolyn Elizabeth Denton went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on October 25, 2025.

She was born March 1st, 1946, in Memphis, Tennessee, to John and Erlyne Allen and was one of four children.

Beginning at a young age, her Father's military career enabled Carolyn to meet many new people, see a lot of different places and try a variety of new things. Because of this lifestyle, she developed and possessed the traits of environmental adaptation and situational compartmentalization. She used this later on and throughout her life, along with her exceptional communication skills, to become a masterful real world problem solver. She influenced all types of people around her to always examine all factors involved, weigh all outcomes, and make educated and thorough decisions that fit best to the specific situation.

Carolyn was a devoted mother and attended church regularly while raising two sons, Gregory and Jonathan. During this time in South Florida, and then Washington State, she worked various jobs but found her niche working for Kittitas County, in the Prosecutor's Office - State of Washington. She was beloved by her co-workers and maintained lifelong friendships with many of them, even after they didn't work together anymore.

She enjoyed the little things in life, listening to Neil Diamond, getting up early and going on a walk to start the day, or simply going to McDonald's to have a biscuit and Coke. Anyone that knew her well, knew of her love of McDonald's biscuits and Coca Cola. It was just her thing and part of her personality.

Once her boys grew up, she regularly traveled to see them and their families. She loved the atmosphere of New York City and the heat of Florida and particularly loved to visit Clearwater Beach in the summer for a relaxing get away.

In 2016, she made a cross country move to Lakeland, Florida from Redmond, Washington to settle down for the remainder of her life. She became an active member of First Christian and Missionary Alliance Church and continued in her retirement by serving the Lord. She was a firm believer in sharing the Gospel with children and she personified that by regularly taking young family members to and from church, and routinely participating in the Kid's Club Ministry on Wednesday nights.

In 2018, a medical event removed her ability to perform various functions that she was accustomed to doing on her own prior. She lived this way for 7 years and never lost her wonderful sense of humor, joy in the little things in life, hope in other people and most importantly, her unwavering faith in Jesus Christ. She still loved to attend church, travel annually to see family in Washington State and spend time with family in Lakeland. Her endless attempts to maintain her independence were an inspiration to everyone that came into contact with her.

She is survived by her three sisters, Lorraine, Beverly and Laura (Washington State) and her two sons and their families – Gregory, Goldie and Luke (New York) and Jonathan, Anna and Erlyna (Florida).

At the request of the family, no services will be held.
