It is with both sorrow and celebration that we announce the passing of Carolyn Ann Elmore on October 3, 2025, at the age of 75. Born on December 9, 1949, in Floydada, Texas, Carolyn spent her life embodying love, faith, and kindness, making a significant impact on all those who knew her.
A devoted member of the Cisco Bible Baptist Church since 2014, Carolyn was passionate about sharing God's word with others and dedicated her time to various church ministries, where her gentle spirit touched many. Her unwavering faith served as a guiding light, inspiring her family and friends to seek peace and love in their lives.
Carolyn was proud to graduate from Eastland High School in 1969 and spent her last 23 years in Eastland, Texas, where she was well-known for her caring nature and her role as a caregiver and peacemaker. She dedicated 10 years to the Eastland Telegraph and spent 23 years working at the State Hospital in Vernon, where her compassionate heart made a lasting difference.
Carolyn found joy in coloring and cherished Saturday game nights with her family, creating lasting memories filled with laughter and love. She is survived by her devoted daughter, Lori Singletary and husband, Herschel of Eastland, and her loving son, Jerry Williams and wife, Jennifer of Ranger, who will carry her spirit forward, a son in law, Randy Davis of Clyde, a brother, Bill Hobbs, Jr. and wife, Jana of Eastland, 13 grandchildren, Marcus Young, Brittany Young, Jerred Williams, Justin Davis, Matthew Davis, Nate Davis, Amanda Davis, Shelby Malone, Amber Singletary, Kaleb Wilcox, two God-granddaughers, Athena Kraft, and Journey, great-grandchildren, Jamie Spradley, Jordan Michael, Charley Young, Tyler Maddox, Teagan Young, Chelsea Williams, Ethan Maddox, Trevor Maddox, Tyler Maddox, and one on the way, (Lyna Young) great-great-grandchildren, Molly Michael, Maelynn Michael, Mathan Michael, Kendra Spradley, and nephews, Tony Stephenson, Chad Stephenson, Kelly Adams, and Ronnie Adams.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronnie Elmore, parents, Bill Hobbs, Sr. and Marvelle Hobbs, a daughter, Diana Davis, two sisters, Janie Hornback, and Donna Alexander, and a granddaughter, Chelsea Williams.
A celebration of Carolyn's remarkable life will take place at 2 p.m. on Monday, October 6, 2025 at the Bible Baptist Church in Cisco with Brother Steve forester officiating. A visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Sunday, October 6, 2025 at Edwards Funeral Home in Eastland. Friends, family, and all whose lives were touched by Carolyn are invited to gather together to honor her memory, share stories, and reflect on the incredible legacy she leaves behind.
