Carolyn Ann Fouchet, known for her grace, warmth, and devotion to family, passed away peacefully on November 10, 2025, at the age of 82. She was the beloved wife of her high school sweetheart, Andre H. Fouchet, and together they celebrated 60 years of marriage this past June.
Born on June 21, 1943, in Central City, Pennsylvania, Carolyn was the daughter of the late Nellie (Sobeck) and John Kubala Jr. She graduated from Lancaster Catholic High School in 1961. After raising her children, Carolyn worked in administrative and bookkeeping roles for several local companies, where her keen intellect and integrity made her a valued team member. Carolyn and Andre were longtime members of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, where faith was always at the center of her life.
Family was Carolyn’s greatest joy. Together, she and Andre raised three children, and she devoted herself wholeheartedly to their lives and later to her grandchildren. She supported them in every endeavor—attending sporting events, dance recitals, and school programs with pride and joy. Carolyn was the heart of her home—a true artisan of everyday life. She had a gift for creating beauty and comfort, whether through her cooking, sewing, decorating, gardening, or folk art painting. Her home reflected her elegant taste and was filled with artwork and antiques collected during travels with Andre.
She loved shopping trips with her daughters, planning holidays and celebrations, and making chocolate chip pancakes for her grandchildren—simple joys that became treasured family traditions. Carolyn will be remembered for her deep love for her family and the countless ways she made life more beautiful.
Travel was another passion. She embraced every opportunity to explore the world, especially Central Europe, with her husband, family, and friends. Four of the most exciting years of her life were spent living in Melbourne, Australia with Andre and their young children. Later, Hilton Head, SouthCarolina became a cherished winter retreat for the couple.
In addition to her husband Andre, Carolyn is survived by her daughters Lisa (wife of Timothy Heuston) of Lancaster and Jennifer (wife of Douglas Cummings) of Troy; five grandchildren—Matthew, Ryan, and Adam Heuston, and Hailey and Kara Cummings; two sisters-in-law, Madeline Krady and Shirley Kubala; and four nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Mark Fouchet; her brothers, John Kubala III and Ronald Kubala; her brother-in-law, James Krady; and her nephew, John Kubala IV.
Watching Carolyn’s decline was extremely hard for those who loved her, but her family takes comfort in knowing she is finally at peace. Andre’s devotion and care during her last years was a true testament to the life and love they shared. Carolyn’s family extends heartfelt gratitude to the wonderful team at Trillium Place for their care and kindness during her final year.
