Carolyn Ruth Hamilton

1938 - 2025

Carolyn Ruth Hamilton, age 87, passed away on November 17th, 2025 at the Cannonwood Assisted Living Home in Clayton, Ga. She was born in Monticello, Florida on January 4, 1938 to the parents of Emma Lou and Arnold Dyer. She spent her childhood in Monticello and graduated from Jefferson County High School in 1955. After marrying Orrin Edwin Hamilton of Monticello, they moved to Tallahassee. She worked in the Office of Comptroller Division of Securities for the State of Florida for many years, retiring in 1989 after 35 years of service.

She is survived by her daughter, Valerie Beaudreau (Brian), and her grandsons, Hunter Beaudreau and Cole Beaudreau, and Orrin Jr's surviving widow, Andrea Hamilton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Orrin Hamilton, and her two sons, Orrin Edwin Hamilton Jr., and Curtis Warner Hamilton, as well as her two brothers Allen Dyer and Maurice Dyer.

She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Later in life, she moved to Tybee Island, Georgia, living with her daughter and son in law. Always loving the beach, she finally got to live there. One of my favorite memories of my mother is snowmobiling in Colorado on her 85th birthday. She was always up for an adventure. She enjoyed spending time with her daughter and two grandsons. She was loved by all and will be greatly missed.

A celebration of life will be held on Friday, December 5, 2025 at 1:00 pm at Bevis Funeral Home in Tallahassee, Florida.
