Carolyn Yvonne Miller Harris

Carolyn Yvonne Miller Harris, 75, of Frankfort, Kentucky, passed away on October 4, 2026 after a courageous yearlong battle with cancer.

Born in Gary, Indiana, on January 10, 1951, she was the daughter of the late James Miller and Minnie A. Samuels Kyle Miller. Carolyn graduated from Kentucky State University in 1978 and spent her professional life serving others, working 27 years at Frankfort Regional Medical Center and 20+ years at the Kentucky Retirement Systems.

Carolyn was a friend to everyone. Living by the philosophy of "service above self." She loved volunteering, hosting gatherings, cooking, and celebrating everyone around her. There was always room for one more person, plate, or conversation.

Her family was her ultimate joy. Carolyn shared 46 years of marriage with her husband, Bonnie Harris. She did anything and everything for her children and adored her grandchildren, constantly finding reasons to surprise them with gifts.

She is survived by her husband, Bonnie; son, Matthew (Katie) Harris; daughter, Whitney Harris (fiancé Scott Long); grandchildren, Walter and Sebastian Harris; brother, Terrance Kyle; sister, Janise Kyle; and countless extended family members, friends, coworkers, and others whose lives were made greater because she was in them.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Linda Elaine Miller, and nephew Terrance James Miller. She will be deeply missed, endlessly loved, and forever remembered.

Services will be held at Forks of Elkhorn Baptist Church on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Les Whitlock officiating. Visitation will be held at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, October 12, 2026. Following the service, family and friends are invited to join us for a repast and time a fellowship as we continue to celebrate her life. A private burial will take place at a later date for immediate family members.
