Carolyn Legette

In My Father's house are many dwelling places. If it were

Our beloved Carolyn Geneva Legette went home to be with the Lord on November 8, 2025, at the young age of 75.

Carolyn was born on November 26, 1949, in Mullins, South Carolina, to the late Theresa Hickson. She was lovingly raised by the late Daisy Pompey. Carolyn received her education through the Mullins Public School System and graduated from Palmetto High School.

At an early age, she accepted Christ as her Savior at The House of God in Mullins, South Carolina.

After moving to Richmond, Virginia, Carolyn began her professional career at the hospital. She was employed with Richmond Memorial Hospital and National Linen before joining Philip Morris, where she dedicated 35 years of faithful service before retiring.

On July 3, 1969, Carolyn united in marriage with the love of her life, Warren F. Legette. Their union was blessed with two children, Yolanda and Aaron.

Carolyn was known for her kind heart, giving spirit, and unwavering devotion to her family. She cared deeply for her loved ones and extended her nurturing heart to others in need. In her leisure, she enjoyed shopping, playing games on her iPad, solving crossword puzzles, dancing, and preparing delicious meals-especially her famous seafood salad. She was the matriarch of her family-bold, loving, and fiercely loyal. Though her words were strong, her heart was even stronger.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her mother, Theresa Hickson, and her sister, Jean Darby.

She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted husband of 56 years, Warren F. Legette; her children, Yolanda Burch of Richmond, VA, and Aaron Legette of Marion, SC; and her stepson, Anthony Genwright (Carla) of Greenville, SC. Carolyn also leaves behind seven beloved grandchildren: Dominique Burch, Keandra Legette, Sajada Al-Malik, Aniyah Funderburk, Ayvion Legette, Faith Legette, and Amaurie Legette; and two great-grandchildren, Kailiee Burch and Jay'Shawn Singleton. She is also survived by two brothers-in-law, Allen Legette (Vivian) of Monroe, NC, and Otha David Legette (Elizabeth) of Myrtle Beach, SC; five sisters-in-law, Anita Campbell (Clinton) of Zion, SC, Susan F. Legette, Grace Platt, Elaine Woodbury of Mullins, SC, and Joan Casey of Concord, NC; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Among her closest friends was Shirley Ann Davis of Mullins, SC, and the Battle and Browning Family.

Carolyn's love, laughter, and legacy will forever live in the hearts of those who were blessed to know her.
