Carolyn Brantley Nesby

Carolyn Brantley Nesby passed away peacefully at Shiloh Residential Care Home, in Plano, Texas in the early morning of Sunday March 2, 2025
Carolyn was born and raised in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, daughter of John D Pulliam and Marcella (Meriweather). Carolyn was one of 8 siblings and is survived by three siblings, John Pulliam of Fort Wayne Indiana, Iris Rogers of Phoenix Arizona and Pennye (Harriett) Martin of Phoenix Arizona and is preceded in death by Philip Pulliam, Marian Fields, Joseph Pulliam and Mable Brewer.
Carolyn devoted her life to the success of her family, moving from Tuscaloosa Alabama to Wyoming, Colorado, New York and then Phoenix Arizona in support of her husband Robert N. Nesby Jr. who pastored at First Institutional Baptist. During their many moves, they were blessed with two beautiful sons, Nathaniel Tyrone Nesby and Robert Cornell Nesby. Carolyn worked for the City of Phoenix and then was called to Tanner Terrace as a Housing and Urban Development Manager, which is where she retired from. Carolyn was preceded in death by her sons and their father.
Carolyn accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior at the age of twelve and has spent her life helping others. Carolyn had a way of making everyone feel comfortable and safe to share their struggles. Her gift from God was encouraging and sharing Gods word with others. A lifelong student of the Bible, she relished the time she could spend reading and in prayer.
Carolyn is survived by her daughter Benita Nesby, her grandchildren Preston Nesby, Payton Nesby-Clark (Steven), Jasmin Nesby, Robert Nesby, Amber Ferguson (Allen), Matthew Howell, three great grandchildren Natalia Walker, Miles Sims and Kingston Sims along with an extended family and many who called her mom. Carolyn was preceded in death by her granddaughter Natalie Nicole Walker.
A Memorial will take place on March 15, 2025, at 12:00 pm (noon) at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home, 740 S. Edmonds Lane, Lewisville, TX 75067, followed by fellowship & food at Urbanos enchilada taco bar immediately after, in lieu of flowers, Carolyn requested that you consider a donation to the American Heart Association.
