CAROLYN R. “DOLLY” ROTHERMICH (nee Wetter) passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 25, 2023, at the age of 88. Cherished mother of Cynthia Forgy (Randy), Nancy Kohl (Don), Doug Rothermich (Maggie), and Phil Rothermich (Mike Hayes). Dear grandmother to Troy Douglas (Stacey), Lauren Douglas, Zack Forgy, Alexandra Rubach (Clayton), Colin Kohl, Claire Martchink (Nick), Taryn Kohl, Ashley Gusewelle (David), Marcus Rothermich (Alissa), Paul Rothermich (Krista), Jack Rothermich, Danny Rothermich, Maggie Hayes, and Mary Hayes, and great grandmother to Carter, Emma, Taylor, Andrew, Luke, Annie, Ben, Ella, Teddy and Caroline.
Dolly was preceded in death by her parents, John and Caroline (Kruetzer) Wetter, and her siblings and their spouses, John and Maudie (Pickering) Wetter, Jeanette and Herb Wappelhorst, Norbert and Florence (Messner) Wetter, Melvin and Kathleen (Schneider) Wetter, and Kenneth Wetter.
Dolly was born and raised in St. Charles and graduated from St. Peter High School in 1953. She enjoyed a wide circle of dear friends, both lifelong and newfound, including her many “club” groups, golf groups, card groups, bowling groups, and travel groups. After raising children, she made a name for herself in real estate in St. Charles County. Her success allowed her to pursue her love of travel, graduating from road trips in the station wagon with kids to seeing the world with her trusted travel companions, eventually visiting dozens of countries on six continents. She endured her share of hardships but no matter what, you could count on her for a smile, a kind word, and a warm heart. Always an eager hostess, she loved to gather a crowd and have a beer on ice.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Duchesne High School or the Ladies Sodality of St. Peter Catholic Church in St. Charles, or Masses.
