Carolyn “Virgie” Alene Sandifer, 80, of Waskom, Texas entered into eternal rest on January 10, 2024. She was born on January 23, 1943, in Huttig, Arkansas to Elvie and Maudie May Stinson.

Funeral services honoring the life of Virgie will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana. Burial will follow at a later date at Forest Park West Cemetery in Shreveport. A visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. until time of the service on Wednesday at the funeral home. Officiating the service will be Bro. Charles Burris.

Virgie is preceded in death by her parents, Elvie and Maudie May Stinson; daughter, Patricia Blake; brothers, Fred Stinson and Ray Stinson; sisters, Mildred Hartsfield and Peggy Shewmake. Left to cherish her memory include her husband of 65 years and the love of her life, Johnny Sandifer; daughters, Debbie Lewis and husband, John, and Donna Turley and husband, Herbert; brother, William Stinson and wife, Patricia; grandsons, Korey Wallace and wife, Ingrid, Jay Wallace, Christopher Lewis and wife, Jessica, Cody Lewis and wife, Magen, and Travis Blake; along with 10 great-grandchildren.

Honoring Virgie as pallbearers will be Korey Wallace, Chris Lewis, Jay Wallace, Cody Lewis, and Logan Lewis. Serving as honorary  pallbearer will be Travis Blake.

The family would like to express special thanks to her nurse, Kasey Gardner, whom she truly loved. I know the love was
returned. Also, thanks to two very special CNA’s, Lisa and Cici, that took special care of Mom along with Kasey. Mom loved all of you dearly.
