Carolyn Schmitt (nee Schmidt) went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, December 28, 2025. She passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her children and their spouses. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 59 years, Edward. She is survived by her five children: Karen (Robert) McQuillan, Patricia (Raymond) Gabler, Linda (James) Berry, Curtis (Tracey) Schmitt, and David (Rose) Schmitt. She was a devoted grandmother of 10 and a doting GG’Mom to 18 great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends may call at Saint Joseph’s Catholic Church, 11007 Montgomery Road, Beltsville, MD, on Monday, January 5, 2026, from 10 to 11 a.m. Celebration of a Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow. Private interment. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Catholic Charities or St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Beltsville, MD.
