Carolyn Smith Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home, Corsicana on Dec. 2, 2025.
Mrs. Carolyn Sue Doty Smith, 79, of Frost, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, December 1, 2025. Carolyn was born on August 6, 1946, in Mill Creek, Oklahoma, to the late Archie H. and Lula Beatrice Doty.

On December 7, 1962, Carolyn married the love of her life, Frank Smith. Together they built a beautiful life rooted in faith, devotion, and unwavering love. Their 59 years of marriage were a shining example of commitment and partnership, and her heart broke a little more each day since his passing in 2022.

Carolyn was many things to many people-a devoted wife, a faithful mother, and a fiercely protective grandmother-but above all, she was a woman whose life reflected her deep love for Jesus. She poured her heart into her family, working every day to guide them with prayer, encouragement, and gentle strength. She was their rock, their comfort, and their tireless prayer warrior. Her greatest joy was seeing her children and grandchildren wrapped in the same faith that sustained her throughout her life.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Frank; her daughter, Tracey Verdun; her grandson, Colby Smith; her sisters, Wanda Pierce and Peggy Pierce; and her brother, Archie Burl Doty. We rejoice knowing she is now reunited with them in Heaven.

Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Cory D. Smith and Scott L. Smith and wife, Deena Smith; her sister, Janice Holder and husband, Mackie Holder; and her brother, Gary Doty and wife, Debbie Doty.

Carolyn was blessed with a loving and growing family. Her grandchildren-Aaron Verdun and wife, Katie; Bryson Smith and wife, A'Lara; Gracie Machac and husband, Tyler; and Garret Smith and wife, Diamond-brought her tremendous joy, each one holding a special place in her heart.

Her great-grandchildren include , Ashton, Hallie, Truitt, Chloee, Aubrie, Makaila, Jameson, Jordan, Brooks, Addey, and Aiden. She is also lovingly remembered by numerous nephews, nieces, and extended family members .

Carolyn leaves behind a family forever marked by her love, her faith, and the countless prayers she spoke over them.

Visitation is scheduled for Monday, December 8th, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m., officiated by Derek Rogers, with burial to follow at Dresden Cemetery.
