Carolyn Sterling

Carolyn Sterling, 77, of Nome, died Tuesday, December 6, 2022, at Harbor Hospice, Beaumont. She was born July 9, 1945, in Silsbee, to Elsie Hatch Hanley and Arthur Hanley.
She entered this world as a loving daughter, granddaughter, sister, cousin and when the time came happily became an aunt to all her loving nieces and nephews. Mom's greatest accomplishment was becoming a loving wife and One of a Kind Loving Mother to me and Clay, and the World's Best Grandmother and Great Grandmother! Mom also carried the titles proudly and with love of Daughter-in-Law, Sister-in-Law, and Mother-In-Law to her "God Given" Family but added many others that crossed her path in her journey through this "thing we call life". To know Mom was to love her and she loved you back "BIG" making you part of her family!
She retired from St. Elizabeth Hospital as a Medical Transcriptionists after twenty-eight years of service. She adored her co-workers, and many were a major part of her life throughout those twenty-eight years and beyond!
Thank you for loving our mother as much as we do and thank you for being a part of her life!

Carolyn is survived by her daughter, Carla Vaughn of Nome; son, Clay Sterling of Buna; sister, LaVerne Stratton of Houston; grandchildren, Cayce Ames and her husband, Glenn, of Sour Lake; Kalie Mazzola and her husband, Anthony, of Sour Lake; Grayson Sterling of Buna; Ryleigh Sterling of Buna; great-grandchildren, Brantley Ames, Teal Mazzola, and Braxden Ames, all of Sour Lake.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Everett Finley; parents, Elsie and Arthur Hanley; sister, Doris Darby; and brother-in-law, Glen Darby.
A gathering of Mrs. Sterling's family and friends will be from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Sunday, December 11, 2022, at Broussard's, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Her funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 12, 2022, at Broussard's, with her interment to follow at Antioch Cemetery, Buna.
