Carolyn Stone Obituary
Carolyn Mattox Stone age 81 of Rocky Mount passed away on Monday, June 16, 2025. She was born on November 17, 1943 a daughter of the late Eugene Harris and Rachel Matthews Mattox. She was also preceded in death by her husband, D. Wayne Stone; and her brother, Eugene Mattox.
Carolyn was a faithful member of Rocky Mount Presbyterian Church and retired from Fleetwood Homes where she worked in the accounting department. She was a loving, caring, giving and kindhearted mother, grandmother and friend. Her sweet gentle spirit will always be remembered and never forgotten by all that knew her.
She is survived by her daughter, Amy Stone Quinn; her son, Christopher Wayne "Chris" Stone (LaLainya); grandchildren, Logan, Samantha and Ethan; sister-in-law, Ruth Mattox. She is also survived by other family members including her extended Stone Family, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial contributions in her name to Rocky Mount Presbyterian Church, 175 Floyd Avenue, Rocky Mount, VA 24151.
Funeral services will be conducted 2 PM Wednesday, June 18, 2025 at Conner-Bowman Funeral Home with Elder Tom Gisiner officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service beginning at 12 PM.
