Carolyn Taylor Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home on Oct. 1, 2025.
Born October 28, 1929, in Ohio County, Kentucky, Carolyn Graham Taylor, died at home in Richmond on Sunday, September 28, 2025. She was the daughter of Leonard C. Taylor and Thelma Graham Taylor and beloved sister of Susan Gay Taylor.
Carolyn's life was full of music. She began sharing her talents as a child, singing solos for church and for weddings and funerals. As an adult she sat at the piano playing and singing big band music of the 40s. Strains of "Unforgettable" filled the house.
Carolyn loved people. She made and kept friendships in the seventeen towns where she lived as her family moved around Kentucky for her father's career.
Carolyn especially loved children. A graduate of the University of Kentucky, she taught in
several Kentucky schools, but most of her thirty-six years of teaching was in Madison County.
She ended her service to Kentucky children at Kit Carson Elementary in Richmond. Carolyn was dedicated to her students and was concerned with their character development as well as their academic achievement.
Carolyn loved to travel. With an unerring sense of direction, she drove through fifty states and most Canadian provinces. All before GPS! She brought her travel experiences back to her classrooms. And most of all, Carolyn loved Christ and her church.
In addition to her sister, she is survived by dear friends, especially the Arterberry and Wesley families, and by many cousins.
A Service of Remembrance will be held at First Baptist Church, Richmond, Friday, October 3, at 5:30 PM.
A Graveside service will be held at the Fairview Cemetery in Bowling Green, Kentucky on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at 1:00 P.M.,CST.
The Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
