Carolyn Ann Visser, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 14, 2026, in Louisville, Kentucky, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on February 6, 1942, in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Fred Knapper and Susan Guenther Knapper.  Carolyn dedicated much of her life to serving her church and nurturing those around her.

For over 40 years, Carolyn owned and operated her own cleaning and lawn care business, exemplifying a strong work ethic and unwavering dedication. She also served as the athletic director for Farmdale Christian School and directed the Farmdale Church of the Nazarene Bible Quiz for an impressive 25 years. These roles allowed her to foster the growth and development of countless children and contribute to the spiritual life of her church community.

She attended Southern High School and achieved her GED at 65 years of age.

Carolyn was known for her loving, caring nature and her faith as a dedicated Christian. She had a deep affection for children, which was evident in her work and in her relationships with her own family. An avid gardener, she found joy in planting flowers and nurturing wildlife, particularly her beloved hummingbirds. Her hobbies included RV camping, fishing, hunting, and following college sports, as well as traveling to create lasting memories.

Family was at the heart of Carolyn's life. She is survived by her loving children: Barbara Laws (Landon), Loretta Koch (Steve), Debbie Rembowski (Chuck), and Steven Visser; her cherished grandchildren: Travis, Tim (Sondra), Cory (Morgan), Clara, Joshua (Serena), Alexis, Danaylee and Jeffrey; and her honorary daughter, Michelle (Brian), mother of Brianna and Jax who she thought of as her own grandchildren.  Carolyn was also blessed with great-grandchildren Oliver, Reese, Maeve, TJ, Lydia, and Layton, who brought her immense joy: her sisters, Donna Kuhn and Dolly Prather, as well as her sisters-in-law, Theresa Knapper and Lillian Bayer. She shared many memories and experiences with these loved ones throughout her life.

Carolyn joins her late husband, George Visser; son, Billy Visser; brothers, Joseph Knapper and Billy Bayer; and daughter-in-law, Katie Visser in eternal rest.

As we celebrate Carolyn's memory, we remember her for her loving spirit and her unwavering dedication to family,  She leaves behind a legacy of affection, strength, and resilience that will be cherished by all who knew her.

Visitation will be from 1:30pm to 8pm on Friday, January 23, 2026 and also from 9:30am to 11:00 am on Saturday, January 24th all at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions, East Louisville Chapel, 235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, Kentucky 40243.  A celebration of Carolyn's life will be there at 11am.  Due to inclement weather, burial will follow in Valley Cemetery, Taylorsville, Kentucky at a later date.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s.
