Carolyn Zecchin

ZECCHIN, Carolyn (Shemanski) – of Lapeer, Michigan, age 83, passed away on Sunday, October 26, 2025. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Mass will be held 11 AM Friday, November 21, 2025 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 1227 E. Bristol Rd., Burton, MI 48529; Fr. Georges Bidzogo celebrant. Inurnment at St. John Catholic Cemetery will be held at a later date. The family will receive visitors on hour prior to the Mass on Friday at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Medical Team Hospice, in Carolyn's memory.
Carolyn was born in Hamtramck, MI on July 8,1942 daughter of the late Henry and Helen (Pawenski) Shemanski. She married Arthur P. "Art" Zecchin on November 5,1960 and he preceded her in death on June 26, 2019. Carolyn worked as a Parish Administrator for Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Vanderbilt, MI for many years. Later on, she became a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Burton, MI. Carolyn had a great passion for tending to her garden. She also enjoyed camping with her husband, Art. In her spare time, she found joy in reading a good book. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Carolyn is survived by her loving children, Kenneth Zecchin, David (Holly) Zecchin, Laura (Terry) Smith and Amy (fiancé Brian) Zecchin; grandchildren, Heather, Cody, Amanda, Danielle, Kelsey, Dustin, Andrew, and Abigail; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Darlene Shemanski and Lorraine Shemanski; many other loving family members and friends.
