HOLZHEIMER LINC (nee Almas) age 90, beloved wife of the late Alan Linc and former wife of the late Herbert Holzheimer, Jr.; loving mother of Herbert Holzheimer, III, Cynthia Matejcik (husband Bruce), and Scott Holzheimer (wife Benita); devoted grandmother of Jennifer Zuber (deceased), Jason Zuber, Andrew Matejcik, Katie Rentfro (husband Wade), Zack Holzheimer, Amber Tice (husband Chase); and great-grandmother of Emery, Abel and Lilly Rentfro and Larry and Teddy Tice; cherished daughter of the late Carl and Ella Almas (nee Vouwie); dearest sister of the late Robert Almas (wife Nan, deceased) and the late Lee Almas, (wife Marge); dear aunt of many.
Carolynn was born on July 13, 1935, in Cleveland, Ohio and lived in Russell Township for sixty-six years in a home built by her father. Having grown up in Shaker Heights, she progressed through Shaker's school system before graduating from Shaker Heights High School. Upon graduation, she attended Kent State University before earning her degree from Lakeland Community College and dedicating 35 years to National City Bank. Strong in her faith, Carolynn was a founding member of St. Anselm in Chesterland.
She was known as a strong-willed and fiercely independent woman with a beautiful smile by her family and friends. She enjoyed time spent outdoors, whether she was in her backyard, serving as Den Leader for her son's Cub Scout Troop, participating in outdoor activities at the family property at Snow Lake in Newbury, vacationing at the family cottage in Lake Milton, or taking memorable trips to Sanibel Island, Florida. In her later years she enjoyed socializing with the senior group in Chesterland, swimming at The Wembley Club, and bowling with her late husband Alan. Carolynn was fond of dogs and rescued several throughout her lifetime. It is with great sadness that we announce her passing on November 25, 2025; she will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
