Tuite, Carolynn M.
GLENMONT - Carolynn M. Tuite died at 9:25 a.m., Saturday, November 15, 2025, at hospice in Albany Medical Center, after seven years living with stage 4 cancer.
Born and raised in the Bronx, N.Y., October 31, 1945, to John and Anna (McGraw) Tuite, Carolynn became a businesswoman in Manhattan, and eventually in Albany, N.Y. After retirement, she was trained to be a volunteer ombudsman for nursing homes, which ended after her diagnosis.
Carolynn was a great reader of all types of non-fiction books, and always could be found reading. She also was a great baker of beautiful special occasion cakes, cookies, and her quiche was the best in the land! Cooking was another joy of hers, catering always to the dietary needs of her guests. She was hospitality personified! She very much enjoyed hosting informal dinners for friends and family. Her garden accomplishments with flowers and vegetables were beautiful to see and delicious to eat. But one of her greatest delights was the creation of the Sunny Glenmont Card Shoppe. She created all occasion cards, and special event ones too, along with bookmarks, inspiring those who received them.
In all, Carolynn was pretty much a master at everything she did, continuing to develop her many gifts. All this creativity came from her love that overflowed to her family and friends. She cared deeply for each member of her family, and when she made a friend, they were friends for life, from childhood to the wisdom ages!
Carolynn's care, warmth and laugh will be missed by so many.
Carolynn is survived by her beloved sister, Maryanne V. Tuite, Glenmont, N.Y.; cousins, Walter and Elizabeth Chilko, Jason Chilko, Victoria Chilko, of Bartonsville, Pa., Kelly Chilko, of Phillipsburg, N.J., Carol Berrigan and Steven Berrigan, of Mohegan Lake, N.Y., Pat Brazil, Tuckahoe, N.Y.; and many more cousins and a host of wonderful friends.
Special gratitude to her oncologist, Dr. Lawrence Garbo, and the staff at Albany Medical Center. A special note of great thanks to Mary Harrison and Pat Walsh, for all their careful attention of these difficult preparations.
