Caron K. Wetter, born on August 9, 1947, in Norton, Kansas, to H. George and Zeta (Nusse)Wetter, peacefully departed this life on December 30, 2024. Caron was a dedicated and compassionate woman who left a lasting impact through her career and her unwavering spirit.
For many years, Caron served as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Lincoln Community Hospital in Hugo, where her care extended to countless patients and families. Her commitment to health and service also found expression through her active involvement with the Limon Ambulance Service.
Throughout her life, Caron enjoyed crocheting, and meeting new friends. As well Caron enjoyed painting, starting in her earlier years, she was a very artsy person. She was willing to learn new things and she took up a bit of tennis, a testament to her adventurous spirit and her desire to embrace life's offerings. Caron was a member of the Holdrege Eagles Club and was a past president of the auxiliary, as well as a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Limon, Colorado.
Caron is survived by her husband, Jimmy Riley; five children: Jody Lewis, Jolene Washington, Jamie Johnson, Joan Johnson, and Joshua Johnson; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She is preceded by her late husband, Jerald Johnson; her father, H. George Wetter; her mother, Zeta Wetter; her brothers, Roger and Edwin Wetter; and her sister Laura Sweeley.
Friends and family are invited to honor Caron's memory with a series of services on January 20, 2025. The Rosary will be held at 8:30 AM, followed by a Mass at 9:00 AM, both at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Limon, Colorado. Caron will then be interred at Norton Cemetery in Norton, Kansas, at 3:00 PM.
Caron K. Wetter’s warmth, laughter, and compassion will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She leaves behind a remarkable legacy of love and service that echoes in the lives she touched.
