Carrie Evans

Carrie Evans, age 80, passed away peacefully on July 31, 2025, at her residence in Woodstock, GA. Born on January 8, 1945, in Canton, GA, Carrie's life was a testament to her unwavering dedication to her family, her faith, and the joy she brought to the lives of those around her through her music and service.
A homemaker at heart, Carrie's priority was always the happiness and wellbeing of her family. She poured her soul into creating a warm and loving home, ensuring that any person who crossed her threshold felt welcomed.
Deeply committed to the youth, Carrie was an active and cherished member of various church groups. She taught Vacation Bible School with enthusiasm and opened her home for countless youth gatherings. Carrie's musical talent was a gift that she generously shared, touching the hearts of many as a talented pianist with local Baptist churches.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnall Evans; parents, Coleman and Amy Doss; five sisters, Elizabeth Shubert, Delores England, Lorraine Samples, Ellen Watson and Martha Shipman; and two infant brothers.
Carrie is survived by her children, Connie Ledford (Alan), Curtis Evans and Tim Evans (Cindy); grandchildren, Nathan Ledford (Kaylin), Ethan Ledford, Ezra Ledford, Natalie Wasmund (Casey), Lydia Walters (Jessica) and Macey Klingerman (Austin); three great-grandchildren, Addi Ledford, Wyatt Ledford and Ava Wasmund; special great-niece, Marsha Reed; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 3, 2025 at the Sosebee Memorial Chapel with Rev. Richard Martin, Rev. Kendall Shaw and Rev. Jimmy Gayton officiating. Interment will follow in Mill Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Sunday from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.
Carrie's favorite color was yellow and the family invites everyone to wear yellow or a cheerful color in her honor.
Serving as pallbearers will be Nathan Ledford, Ethan Ledford, Ezra Ledford, Casey Wasmund, Terry Reed and Thomas Champion.
