Obituary published on Legacy.com by Stewart Family Funeral Home - Tyler on Feb. 13, 2026.
Family and friends are invited to join us in celebrating the life and loving memory of Carrie Sue Miller Hickman, 62, of
Flower Mound, Texas. Graveside services will be held Monday, February 16, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Flint Cemetery, with Pastor Ryan Surratt officiating. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. at the cemetery prior to the service, under the direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home.
Carrie Sue was born on September 24, 1963, in
Dallas, Texas, to Richard and Julia Miller. Although born in Dallas, the Miller family moved to Chapel Hill, where she attended school through high school. Following graduation, she received her Associate's Degree in Dental Hygiene from Tyler Junior College. During her years in the Chapel Hill and Tyler area, Carrie Sue attended Green Acres Baptist Church in Tyler. She began a successful career in the dental field, eventually holding a prominent position in the DFW area until she and Kerry welcomed the greatest blessings of their lives, their sweet boys.
On September 1, 1990, she married the love of her life, Kerry Lane Hickman. Their marriage was marked by enduring love and devotion that remained steadfast until Carrie's passing.
While she accomplished much professionally, Carrie Sue's greatest joy and proudest role was becoming a mother to her twin sons, Trevor Lee and Hunter Lane on March 1, 1996. She loved her boys more than life itself and poured her heart into every moment with them.
Carrie Sue cherished life's simple, meaningful moments with her family - watching the Food Network and Grey's Anatomy with Trevor, and spending quiet time with Hunter, whether talking for hours, sharing laughter, or simply sitting side by side. She loved creating jewelry and expressing her creativity through beautiful handmade pieces, but her greatest happiness was simply being in the presence of her boys.
Carrie Sue passed away suddenly yet peacefully on February 6, 2026, at Medical City Hospital in Lewisville, surrounded by her most beloved family members.
She was preceded in death by her precious son, Trevor Lee Hickman; mother, Julia Ann Cook Miller; her father-in-law, Eugene "Pops" Hickman; her Mamaw, Ruthie Hickman; and her Granny-in-law, Amelia Barnes.
She is survived by her lovingly devoted husband, Kerry Lane Hickman; her sweet son, Hunter Lane Hickman; her father and stepmother, Richard and Darla Miller; brother and sister-in-law, Brent and Angie Miller; her mother-in-law, Bettie Hickman; brother-in-law, Jim Hickman; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, James and Stacey Sammons, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who will miss her deeply.
Honorary pallbearers are Hunter Lane Hickman, Brent Miller, Jim Hickman, James Sammons, Ronnie Fountain, Bart Lemons, Kyle Norton, Robbie McElmury, and Trevor Lee Hickman (in memoriam).
If you would like to send flowers or plants, they may be delivered to Stewart Family Funeral Home on Saturday, February 14th, or on Monday morning before 9:30 a.m. to ensure timely delivery to the 2:00 p.m. service.
