I remember Carrie spending time at our place with Arla. We would head to the river to swim in the summer or ride our bikes all over the neighborhood. She had a great smile and was quick to laugh when embarrassed. Sad to hear of her passing.

Carrie and I met in 1st grade, but didn't become Besties until middle school. She was fun, kind, strong, opinionated in a good way, & had a great sense of humor. Growing up, we biked our way around Albany until we got our licenses, had sleep overs (my mom would walk in the kitchen in the middle of the night to ask us to quiet down because we were laughing so hard), water balloon fights, & commiserated over relationships. She was so quick to laugh & a loyal friend. She would visit me when I moved to Portland and then to Eugene. It is a rare and lovely thing to have a friend you may not have seen for years, but when coming together it is just like no time has passed at all. I will miss her (I do miss her). What a beautiful soul. Valerie, if you see this, please contact me, I would love to talk. ~Pam Bartell

Carrie and Valerie were neighbors and babysat my brothers and I. We all lived on Lawnridge St. I always thought the girls were Barbies in the 60,s/70´s with their long straight blonde hair, hip hugger embroidered jeans. Then Carrie and I have kept talking through FB. She was lonely it seemed. I cherished our friendship. May you be at peace and blessings to your friends and family. Brenda Cooper
