Carrie M. Taylor, 82, heeded the call of her Heavenly Father and entered into eternal glory on January 17, 2023, after a brief illness.
She was born June 8, 1940, in Water Valley, Mississippi to the late Fred and Clara Taylor and was the oldest of nine children born to that union.
Carrie retired from Packard Electric in Warren, Ohio after 26 years of dedicated service.
She was a member of St. James Missionary Baptist Church where she served as a church mother.
Carrie was an excellent cook and enjoyed making all kinds of dishes. Her specialty was her caramel cakes. She also enjoyed attending church, canning, gardening, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
She leaves to mourn her loss and cherish her memory, two sons, Cornelious Wright of Houston, Texas and David Wright of Dallas, Texas; two daughters, Cherry Wright of Bryant, Arkansas and Dewayna Wright of Houston, Texas; one stepdaughter, Gwen (Moses) Ochieng of Wylie, Texas; two brothers, Joe (Mildred) Taylor of Adairville, Kentucky, and Dean (Deborah) Taylor of Jackson, Tennessee; two sisters, Sadie Donnell of Nashville, Tennessee and Mary (Phillip) Ziegler of Warren, Ohio; twenty grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Robert Taylor, Sr., Alexander Taylor and Fred Taylor; one sister Angela Taylor; one half-sister Helen Patterson; one grandson Dewayne Young; and one great-grandson JaVarrie Robertson.
