Carrol Niemeyer, 101, of Lindsay, Nebraska, died Friday, September 26, 2025, at Genoa Community Hospital, LTC, in Genoa, Nebraska.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, October 4, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Lindsay, with Father Rodney Kneifl celebrating the Mass. Visitation will be on Saturday, from 12:00 PM until service time, at the church. Interment will be in Holy Family Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Genoa Medical Facilities or St. Croix Hospice. The funeral Mass will be broadcast live on the Gass Haney Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100057043736890

Carrol J. Niemeyer was born June 5, 1924, to John and Carrie (Nienaber) Niemeyer near the St. Bernard, Nebraska area. He grew up helping his father on the family farm. In 1948, Carrol was united in marriage to Madeline Pitzl. To this union fourteen children were born.

Carrol farmed and worked at Becton Dickinson to care for his family. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He always had a smile on his face and a memory to share about his adventures. He enjoyed travelling with Madeline to visit the children throughout the United States.

Carrol was truly a farmer, always fixing something. All he needed was a pair of pliers, baling wire, and twine string. Carrol was always proud of his garden after moving from the farm into town in Lindsay, Nebraska. He still always planted enough to share with family and friends. Carrol was a faithful member of Holy Family Catholic Church.

The family would like to thank Genoa Long Term Care and St. Croix Hospice for their kindness and compassionate care when we needed them.
