Carroll Wayne "C.W." Coots, 84, of Warrensburg, MO, passed away on Thursday, February 26, 2026, in his home.

C.W. was born on April 26, 1941 in Altamont, KS, to Zora "Tic" and Mary (Wolgamott) Coots. Two years after joining the Air Force he married Judith Elaine "Sam" Coots on June 9, 1962. To this union were born two sons.

C.W. was career Air Force for 26 years, 12 years enlisted, and 14 years as an officer after completing a Bachelor Degree. In retirement, he had a small business servicing hot tubs throughout Missouri. He enjoyed playing tennis and golf, hunting and fishing, and spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his son, Jeffrey Wayne Coots and his wife Kim of Huntsville, AL and their children, Kelsey, her husband Jacob Murphy, and their children, Brooks and Lainey; Ashley, her husband Sam Goldasich, and their son, Beau; and Connor; his son, Bradley Duane Coots and his wife Julie of Olathe, KS and their children, Erin; Rachel; Audrey, her husband Sebastian Fry, and their expected child, and Kyle; his sister, Marcel Teehee of Kyle, TX; and numerous extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, "Sam" Coots; his parents, "Tic" and Mary Coots; and his sister, Delores Steeby of Spring, TX.

A private memorial for family and friends will be held at a later date.

Contributions may be made in his memory to the American Cancer Foundation and checks may be left in care of Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home.
