Oh Carroll. I'm so glad that you and Tom came to see me in Alaska, which was your last state needed to visit. I'm grateful for you continued outreach in the form of family letters at Xmas. I'm regret that I was such a poor correspondent, but I thought of you often.
Just now I read of your death in the Mac News. I will be take a walk in the sunshine in Fairbanks today think of the fun we had together.

When I first met Carroll at an MASL conference, it was like meeting an old friend with no period of getting to know you. With Carroll, I always felt heard and respected.

She had that rare combination of intelligence, warmth, and clear purpose that made her a great leader. I counted her as a true friend.
