I have to wish this man a happy Father’s Day who in life was a great father and mentor. One of the greatest actors in Hollywood and to a man who I adopted just from television as my grandfather figure as I lost my grandfather‘s, very young. Wished in life I could’ve met him in real life.

Mr. O'Connor you are my favorite Actor of all times and will always be a favorite friend of mine. For all though we never met, I feel like I watched you enough to feel close to you, as a good and old friend would feel.

I Pray for you and Hugh, and do hope that you both are up in HEAVEN
watching down on us. For you are both good and special people to entertain us all for many years and seasons on end.

You both are greatly missed, and we your favorite audience enjoy watching you both on "In the Heat of the Night" Prayers going UP! Rest in Peace and may God Bless You Both on this Father's Day 2025! Amen :)

I will never forget that face when he was being Archie. He wouldn´t have to have had any dialogue and we would still have known exactly what Archie was thinking. He was the greatest of actors. I wish I could have had the opportunity to have met him and told him what an incredible actor he was.

As Archie Bunker in All in the Family he was terrific. And then as Chief Bill Gillespie in the tv series In The Heat of the Night. Another outstanding series. R.I.P. Mr. O'Connor.

I always enjoyed Carroll O'Connors interpretation of the characters he played, my heart sank for him when his son died after he fought so hard to save him. May he rest in peace and his family rest in peace with him.

Hard to believe it’s been 23 years since we lost this incredible actor and true gentleman. Just watched two episodes of In The Heat of the Night. He was truly the best actor of his generation. May he forever rest in peace and he will never be forgotten.

23 years ago we lost this great man and actor, a man I wish I met in life! But he left us his work so we can always turn on the tv and see him.

Watching all in the family right now, I am 41 and always have watched this show and his acting . He was truly a real actor . He could be in front of the camera on stage , and perform. You felt the emotion and he had something most do not embody. He was a gift . As was Jean Stapleton . Talk about real comedic acting. Norma Lear and these two were trying to show how not to treat people differently and show all angles of the thought processes and the lesson to learn after the bad is said . We will never have such quality again . As good times was the same. People now a days say, nobody would be able to handle these shows but it’s what we really need . Thank you Archie . Stifle yourself

Carroll attended my college, the University of Montana, where he met his wife. Near the end of his life, he and his wife returned to Missoula to teach acting classes at UM. What a wonderful experience it was for the students lucky enough to have had him in classes!

He was a brilliant actor. The characters he played were all so different. In The Heat of the Night is an all time favorite of mine. Of course, All in the Family showcases his huge acting abilities too.

So sad about Hugh whom he loved so much.

Carroll O´Connor left his mark in this world. Not many can say that.

I've been rewatching "In the Heat of the Night" recently, reminiscing about how much my mom and I loved the show during its original run. It's bittersweet, because I lost my mom earlier this year, but I cherish the memories. Thank you, Carroll!! You are missed!

22 years ago . We lost this great man! Such a one of a kind actor. These no one else in Hollywood like him. So glad he leftis his work to view in reruns All in the Family and in the heat of the night.

You will ALWAYS be in my family's hearts. Besides NEVER missing an episode, my mother's and father's name was Edith and Archie! I was their only child, not named Gloria but all of my parents friends used to call them the Bunkers!

Remembering a great actor and kind man on the anniversary of his passing. Always remembered.

Believe it or not I'm currently watching 'All in the Family' for the very first time. What a terrific performance from all concerned and in particular, of course, from Carroll. An actor of such droll abilities it's impossible to imagine anyone else in the role of 'Archie Bunker'. It prompted me to read a little about his life and, goodness me! He made such a generous contribution to society following such terrible personal grief.
A life well lived.

It’s hard to believe that tomorrow makes 21 years since we lost this dear man. He was the greatest actor of his time and only wish that he could have entertained us a bit longer. Hope you are making them laugh in heaven.

I too am a University of Montana grad. Carroll was one of the best actors I have ever seen. He came back to Missoula in his later years to teach acting classes at UM. Special man.

My family grew up with him, when all 7 of us watched him on television when we were children. He was a good man, funny and he brought families together, we all laughed. I wasn't related to him, but he was a nice man.

Hard to believe it's been 20 years since this beloved actor left us. He was one of the best actors ever and a comedic genius. His role as the Chief on In the Heat of the Night was so memorable. You could see a bit of Archie Bunker occasionally with a quick expression. I think that may have been intentional. Still love watching him and thankfully we have those shows to remember him.
