Casey John Abele, 57, of Cloquet, MN passed away unexpectedly October 29th, 2025, at his home.

Born on July 13th, 1968, Rayjoy and Val McCliff in California, but later adopted and raised by John and Judith (Gibson) Abele in Oregon. He graduated from Springfield High School and then enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. Upon discharge from his service.

He met the love of his life, Joanna Chambers, and they married on June 11th, 1989, and renewed their vows 10 years later, on June 18th, 1999. They had 3 children together, Sean, Jessica and Morgen. They raised their family in Eugene and Springfield, Oregon before moving to Cloquet in 2011 to be closer to family.

Casey worked at Black Bear Casino, where he started at inventory control before being a lead tech for the past 10 years. He was a sport fanatic, his first love is baseball, and his second is lacrosse, which he coached for his nephew, Lawrence. He and his group of friends had a special space on the bleachers where they would cheer loudly.

His family was everything to him and had a special kind of humor, you had to know him to understand it. He loved his VFW poker nights and will have many friends that will miss him.

He is preceded in death by his biological parents; daughter, Morgen Jean; and grandfather, Fredrick Abele.

Casey is survived by his spouse, Joanna; children, Sean and Jessica Abele, siblings, Rebecca (Mark) Lambert, Rachel (Brian) Krueger, Juney (Paul) Gangle, Shawna (Hunter) Floyd, and Melissa (Robert) Erdman; great-nephew, Lawrence Maki-Lambert; adoptive parents; John and Judith Abele; and many other nephews, nieces, and other family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 6th, 2025, at Good Hope Church (55 Armory Rd, Cloquet, MN) at 1 pm, followed by funeral service at 2pm. Luncheon to follow.
